Women in Science and Engineering

The results of science have no gender

Now is the time to become WISE, become a Woman In Science and Engineering (WISE). Science, technology, engineering and math skills are central to daily life today and will be crucial in the 21st Century. The subject areas of science, technology, engineering and math, collectively referred to as STEM, are central to our economy and national security and will become increasingly more important.

Over the next few years, the fastest growing careers will be in math and science. Women make up about 50% of the workforce, but only make up 26% of the workforce in the area of science and math. Nearly 90% of Fortune 1000 STEM companies said women, African Americans, Native Americans, and Hispanics are underrepresented in STEM. The School of Earth and Space Exploration will put you on the path to explore the many opportunities available to you.
